A senior SIPTU official has criticised management at the Royal Dublin hotel in Dublin for trying to replace 35 staff who have staged an official dispute there for seven weeks.

Mr Norman Croke accused the management of trying to fill the jobs "with scab labour by advertising", which he claimed was patently untrue".

A spokesman for the hotel management referred queries to IBEC. However there was no one available at IBEC to comment.
