THE Fermanagh congress will take place from March 21st to 23rd in the Manor House Country Hotel, Killadeas, Enniskillen. The major and intermediate pairs will be played on Friday evening (8.00 p.m.) and Saturday afternoon; the teams on Saturday night and Sunday (finishing before 5 p.m.); open pairs throughout. The Irish Bridge Union's under 20 interprovincial championship (Rosenberg Trophy) will be decided on March 21st-22nd in the Coleraine Academical Institution, on the Castlerock Road. The Ballinasloe, two session, open pairs championship (A.T. Cross Trophy), with prizes for all grades, will be held in Hayden's Hotel on March 23rd (1.00 pm.). Entries: Martin Loughnane (0905-73702).

Cork City (R.D. McGrath, D. O'Gorman, K. Hayes, and M. Finn) won the all Ireland team championship for the Burke Trophy which was played over three sessions in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone. Having scored 166 victory points, they were eight ahead of the runners up, M. Burke, G. Lessells, P. Liston, and B. Pattison (Limerick City). Third prize went to M. Rosenberg, I. Lindsay, A. Alcock, and A. Sharpe (Co Derry) with 148.5.

Other leading placings: 4, J. Comyn, B.J. O'Brien, J.P. MacHale, R. Milne (Dublin City South), 148; 5, J. Riordan, S. Gleeson, L. Gaynor, R Redmond (South County Dublin), 139; 6, J. Ferguson, I. Hamilton, J. Murchan, T. Kelly (Tyrone), 133.5. 35 teams competed.

The Contract Bridge Association of Ireland's national women's pairs championship (Jackson Cup) has been rescheduled for April 12th (1.30 p.m.) and will be played in the Regent, 25 Waterloo Road, Dublin. Entries: Paul Porteous (01-2697275).

The Bankers' congress will be held at 92-93 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, from March 15th to 23rd. Pre entry is essential for all the events, including the gala pairs.
