Ukraine's Supreme Court threw out the last of four complaints today lodged by Prime Minister Mr Viktor Yanukovich, dealing a blow to his dogged bid to overturn his liberal rival's victory.

The last complaint will not be considered. All four complaints were rejected," Supreme Court spokeswoman Ms Liana Shlyaposhnikova said.

Mr Yanukovich, beaten by liberal challenger Mr Viktor Yushchenko in a re-run of a November vote that had been rigged in the premier's favour, has vowed never to concede defeat.

He can launch further legal challenges once the poll's result is officially published.
