Jordan, which halted beef and cattle imports from Britain and Ireland in 1990, has banned the sale of British dairy products and chocolate bars amid BSE fears, a health ministry spokesman said yesterday.

The produce will undergo laboratory tests to determine whether it can be put back on sale or destroyed, an official said.
