UEFA have confirmed that tonight's Champions League matches should still go ahead as scheduled following the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.

Financial centres in Europe are in a state of shock following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York and other key American buildings.

However, although UEFA director of communications Mike Lee called the events "tragic" and confirmed his organisation were monitoring the situation, all eight matches this evening - including those involving Liverpool and Arsenal - are still set to take place.
