All-Ireland winning captain Peter Canavan was rewarded with his fifth All Star this evening as Tyrone players dominated the Vodafone football awards.

Seven members of the side that lifted the Sam Maguire in September were honoured at tonight's gala dinner with Cormac McAnallen, Conor Gormley, Philip Jordan, Sean Cavanagh, Brian Dooher and Brian McGuigan also named in the All Star team.

Beaten finalists Armagh earned two awards with defender Francie Bellew and star forward Steven McDonnell selected. McDonell was also named as footballer of the year.

With three of the four championship semi-finalists haling from Ulster, it was widely anticipated players from Tyrone, Armagh and Donegal would receive the lions share of the nominations and Adrian Sweeney made it 10 awards for the province when he was named in attack.
