Chris Lawn has recovered from the groin injury which cursed his National League campaign and will line-out for Tyrone against Derry in Sunday's Ulster Championship clash at Clones.

The big defender started the opening league game against Roscommon in February but was called ashore at half-time as the injury flared up.

He subsequently missed the next seven league games but a sharp return to fitness ensured a brief appearance in the dying stages of the league final win over Laois.

Lawn's inclusion at right back means Ryan McMenamin, an ever present during Tyrone's successful league defence, loses his place in the starting XV.

Manager Mickey Harte has named Gavin Devlin at centre back for what should be his championship bow but the youngster may have to wait until 24 hours before throw-in to learn if he can play.

The Games Administration Committee of the GAA will tomorrow night view video footage of Tyrone's clash with Laois in which there is an apparent stamping incident involving the centre-back.

Should the GAC decide there is a case to answer for, the player will then be brought before a disciplinary hearing on Saturday where his fate will be decided. A suspension would automatically rule him out of the Clones showdown.
