Two women were killed in a road collision in County Galway this evening.
The incident happened at around 5pm near the town of Dunmore. It is understood a car and a lorry were involved. The victims were travelling in the same vehicle.
Gardaí beleive the two women were sisters in their late 20s or early 30s.
The driver of the lorry escaped with minor injuries but is suffering from shock.

Gardaí are still investigating the cause of the accident. The Tuam-Dunmore road is closed to traffic and diversions have been put in place.
