Two men charged with membership of an illegal organisation were freed on bail by the Special Criminal Court today.
They are each charged with membership of an illegal organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Óglaigh na hÉireann, otherwise the IRA.
They were arrested on Monday as part of a Garda investigation into dissident republican activity in the Munster area.
They are Mr John Murphy (23), unemployed, of Ashburton House, Kilbarry, Old Mallow Road, Cork, and Mr Ultan Larkin (32), a carpenter, of The Bungalow, Farranshone, Limerick.
Mr Larkin was freed on his own bond of €6,000, a cash lodgement of €10,000 and was ordered to sign on daily at Henry Street Garda Station in Limerick.
Murphy was freed on his own bond of €6,000, a cash lodgement of €15,000 and an independent surety of €4,000 and was ordered to sign on daily at Mayfield Garda Station in Cork.
Both men also undertook not to associate with anyone convicted of a scheduled offence.
The court remanded the two men on bail until February 3rd next year.
