Two men on house arson charge

Two men have been charged in connection with the petrol-bombing of a house in Limerick

Two men have been charged in connection with the petrol-bombing of a house in Limerick. A young girl received serious burns in the incident.

At a special sitting of Limerick District court yesterday Mr David Sheehan (30), Galvone Road, Kennedy Park, and Mr Gerald Doyle (29), O'Malley Park, Limerick, were charged with arson and damaging by fire a house at O'Malley Park belonging to Ms Nuala O'Donoghue last Saturday. The court was told that damage of more than £50,000 was caused to the house and a 14year-old girl received second-degree burns to her legs.

An application for bail by Mr Sheehan was refused after the judge was told the defendant had made arrangements to leave the city. Both defendants were remanded until Thursday.
