Two held over Carlow cocaine

Two people are being questioned today following the seizure of cocaine with an estimated value of €120,000 in Carlow town.

Two people are being questioned today following the seizure of cocaine with an estimated value of €120,000 in Carlow town.

Gardaí searched a house in the New Oak Estate and another in Pollerton yesterday evening.

A woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s were arrested.

They are being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Carlow Garda station.

A Garda spokesman said the arrests came as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of illegal drugs in the southeast.
