The rugby league world champion Kangaroos smashed Great Britain with 11 tries in a 64-10 record rout in their one-off rugby league Test in Sydney today.

The Australians, held scoreless in the opening 20 minutes, exploded away from the outgunned Lions in the 20 minutes up to halftime scoring 34 unanswered points.

The British hit back with two tries early in the second half but that just triggered the Kangaroos into more pointscoring action and they finished strongly.

Scrumhalf Andrew Johns, captaining Australia for the first time, kicked 10 goals from 11 attempts with fullback Darren Lockyer scoring two tries.
