The Labour Party's former "deputy leader, Mr Roy Hattersley, said yesterday that Mr Tony Blair's New Labour was "over public relation-ed". He said: "There are too many people talking to newspapers. It's spin doctoring. It's not very competent spin doctoring."
Mr Hattersley is retiring as Labour MP for Birmingham Sparkbrook.
