Two men died in separate single-vehicle crashes in Counties Donegal and Clare.

In Co Clare, a 21-year-old man died when the car he was driving hit a wall on Main Street, Kildysart at 2am today. Gardai in Kilrush Garda station are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A 34-year-old man died in a crash in Co Donegal when his motorbike went out of control at Cashelnavean near Ballybofey at 5.20pm yesterday. The man was named as John Barr with an address at Ashbrook, Strabane, County Tyrone by gardai this afternoon.

Another motorcyclist died in a crash with a car at Coolroe, Ballycullane, New Ross, Co Wexford at around 9.50 last night. The victim was 17 years old. Gardai from Campile Garda station, Wexford, are investigating the crash.

There were three other deaths on Ireland's roads over the weekend. An 86-year-old woman died in a crash in Mayo yesterday morning.

She has been named by the Garda this evening as Brigid Mitchell of Shore Road, Saula, Achill Island.

The car in which she was a passenger collided with another at Drumlong, Newport near Castlebar at 11.45am. Four others were injured in the crash.

In the North two people lost their lives in crashes. A 21-year-old man was killed in a crash on the M2 motorway, near Templepatrick, Co Antrim, in the early hours of yesterday morning. He was named by the PSNI as Timothy Fulton, Shellinghill Road in Cullybackey, Co Antrim. Police in the North said the crash happened when the car left the motorway shortly before 2.30am.

Christopher Coary (19), Coole Road, Coalisland, Co Tyrone, was killed in a crash in the county on Friday. The car he was travelling in was involved in a crash with a mobile crane being driven on the Tandragee Road outside Pomeroy.

So far this year 182 people have died on the State's roads.
