Three people have been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a Belfast man four months ago.

Two men and a woman were being questioned about the killing, a PSNI spokesman confirmed today.

Mr David Barnes (39), was shot in the head in a flat in the north of the city earlier this year.

The killers smashed in the door of the apartment on March 8th at Brookvale Avenue, off the Antrim Road, and two masked men entered the bedroom, firing two shots.

The brother of the victim's girlfriend, who was asleep in another room, called the emergency services after the gun attack but Mr Barnes died at the scene.

At the time police said they did not believe the motive for the murder was sectarian.
