Tesco has recalled a range of its own brand tinned beans and sausages because small pieces of rubber from a production line have been found in a number of cans.
While five products selling in the Tesco’s UK stores have been affected, the 567g cans of Tesco Value Beans & Sausage is the only product being recalled in the Republic.
The tins have best before dates up to and including December 2009.
A spokesman for Tesco Ireland said that the recall was a precautionary measure and affected around 3,000 tins. He asked consumers to return the stock to any Tesco outlet for a full refund.
