What’s the best way to follow up a smash hit like Temple Run? Add a few more elements and slap a “2” on the end of the name.

The game is basically still the same: grab the cursed idol, keep running and don’t look back. Avoid the fast-running streams, crumbling roofs and deep ravines that will trip you up.

Falter and the rather large, mildly annoyed monkey that’s chasing you will snack on your twitching corpse.

The new version of the game brings new obstacles and more power-ups. You have goals to hit, and characters have their own power ups, such as coin bonuses, speed boosts and score bonuses.

You start off with Guy Dangerous and have to earn enough gold to unlock the remaining characters. And you can use the gold to upgrade your abilities, such as becoming a coin magnet.

The new environments look great, with perilous drops and the odd fire-breathing statue here and there. Just as addictive as its predecessor.
