Two Palestinian men, age 25 and 28, were shot dead in their homes near the northern West Bank city of Nablus today.

Security sources said the men were shot dead by unknown assailants for "their dealings with the [Israeli] occupation forces".

Half a dozen suspected collaborators have been killed by militant groups taking the law in their own hands since the beginning of the Palestinian uprising in September 2000.

The practice has been condemned by local and international human rights groups who say alleged spies should stand trial.
