Sunny spells but expect those April showers

“It will be hit and miss; some areas will have good, sunny spells and will be largely dry, but there will be showers,” said Met Éireann meteorologist Jean Byrne.

She said showers would become widespread later today, with a high risk of hail and thunderstorms, particularly in Ulster, Connacht and Munster.

This pattern will continue throughout the weekend.
