A suicide bomber blew up his car at an Iraqi National Guard checkpoint west of the town of Baiji today, killing himself and a civilian and wounding two guardsmen.
Baiji, an oil-refining town 180 kilometres north of Baghdad, has seen frequent attacks by insurgents on US-led troops and Iraqi security forces.
