The quake hit at 11am (local time) about 53 km west-southwest of Bandar Abbas at a depth of 34.6 miles, the US agency said. There were no immediate reports on damage, but residents in the United Arab Emirates, across the Gulf from Iran, reported feeling a slight tremor.
