It's official. Hollywood's hottest couple, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, are getting married, the screen siren has revealed.
Speculation that the pair were engaged has been rife on both sides of the Atlantic ever since Lopez wasphotographed sporting an unusual pink diamond which looked suspiciously like an engagement ring.
Twice-married J-Lo has enjoyed a somewhat chequered love life, while her intended is the man who reportedly broke the heart of actress Gywneth Paltrow.
So will this prove to be a marriage made in heaven or Hollywood?
J-Lo ended weeks of media hype when she made the announcement on an American television channel. The 32-year-old star initially seemed reluctant to confirm the marriage rumours during an interview with Diane Sawyer of ABC News, to be aired later this week, but eventually admitted the engagement, saying that Affleck's proposal had been "traditional, but also in a very spectacular way, as of course Ben would do it".
"It was very, very beautiful."
Of her fiance, she added: "He is brilliantly smart ... Loving. Charming. Affectionate. And I just admire him in every way. I respect him; I feel like he teaches me things."
But she would not comment on when the impending nuptials are likely to take place - recent tabloid reports in the US have suggested the couple are due to marry in Puerto Rico on Valentine's Day.
The pair met last December on the set of their new film Gigli, a comedy about the mob, but the relationship didn't become public until this summer. They have just finished filming Jersey Girl, with director Kevin Smith. Both films are due to be released next year.
