Staff associations, as well as trade unions, will be able to negotiate agreements on the implementation of the Working Time Bill, the Minister for Labour Affairs, Ms Eithne Fitzgerald, has confirmed.
The Bill allows for trade unions to negotiate the averaging out of the 48 hour ceiling on the working week over six months, or a year, to accommodate firms which experience seasonal peaks in business.
