Castelo De Paiva - Emergency crews battled dangerous river currents yesterday to reach the spot where vehicles with the bodies of 70 victims of Portugal's worst road accident may be lying in deep water.
Sonar equipment detected large objects 100 metres from the century-old bridge whose collapse last Sunday sent a double-deck bus and several vehicles plunging into the swirling River Douro near the northern Portuguese town of Castelo de Paivo.
