Two taken to hospital after part of Temple Bar arch ‘collapses’

Emergency services at scene of Dublin 2 incident which has caused traffic delays

Two people have been taken to hospital with injuries after the apparent partial collapse of an archway in Temple Bar, Dublin.

Three fire engines, two ambulances and a Garda traffic unit were called to the scene at Merchant’s Arch on Wednesday evening.

AA Roadwatch said an incident at Wellington Quay was causing traffic delays back to Burgh Quay.

An eyewitness said a man and a woman were struck by the falling bricks and wood.

“It is a wonder they weren’t killed,” the eyewitness said.
