London - Leeds United soccer star Jonathan Woodgate yesterday admitted in Hull Crown Court witnessing the savage street attack on an Asian student in which he is accused of taking part.

But the England international defender denied "pitching in" to the assault on 20year-old Sarfraz Najeib. The soccer player claimed he had fallen over and injured his ankle before arriving at the scene of the attack in Mill Hill.
