The benefits of a smoke-free pub environment are to be highlighted by the Western Health Board today when it presents awards to 38 bars throughout Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
Research carried out for the board and published last summer showed that the majority of bars monitored were unable to control smoke pollution levels. The awards were set up as part of the board's new "breathe-easy bar" campaign.
