A former Bray Wanderers footballer with more than €400,000 worth of cocaine and heroin at his family home has received a 10-year sentence.

Paul Dunphy (22), who made 48 senior appearances for the Seagulls between 2007 and 2008, told gardaí he was the “keeper” and not the owner of €220,548 worth of cocaine and €199,161 of heroin.

Dunphy had pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession of heroin and cocaine for sale or supply at Cleggan Park, Ballyfermot, on August 13th, 2009. Judge Frank O’Donnell suspended the last four years of Dunphy’s sentence.
