Gardaí in Limerick are investigating a shooting in the city. They say they have yet to establish a motive for the incident.

Two shots were fired at the front door of a house in the John Carew Park area of the city at 9.20 p.m. on Monday. The house, which is in Salvia Court, was unoccupied and no-one was injured. Gardaí say they believe the shooting is not linked to the ongoing feud on the north side of the city.

Garda sources have also ruled out any link to recent attacks in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city where last week an incendiary device was placed on the window of a house in Raheen Square.

"We have no known motive yet for this incident," said a Garda source.
