Ms Roisin Shorthall, the Labour TD for Dublin NorthWest, has been elected chairwoman of the Eastern Health Board. She said a priority would be the extension of treatment facilities for drug-abusers in the area.
Her other area of interest will be the improvement of services for the mentally handicapped.
