Leinster will be able to call on the services of outhalf Jonathan Sexton for their opening Heineken Cup clash against Racing-Metro 92 at the RDS on Saturday (1.30).
Sexton replaced Shane Horgan after 56 minutes of Leinster’s 13-9 victory over Munster in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday and has shown no signs of any reaction and will be available for selection.
Shane Jennings will also be available for selection, while a decision on the availability of captain Leo Cullen will be made at Thursday’s team announcement.
Leinster have received a boost ahead of the clash with the confirmation that Racing will be without international duo Juan-Martin Hernandez and Benjamin Fall.
Argentine outhalf Hernandez and French winger Fall were missing for the Top 14 leaders as they narrowly lost to Heineken Cup champions Toulouse at the weekend and have been ruled out of at least the opening round of European action.
With playmaker Hernandez sidelined, the French side will be hoping Jonathan Wisniewski recovers from a knock which saw him forced from the field in the second half against Toulouse in time to take the No 10 jersey in Dublin.
