The latest was early this morning when a mother and daughter were taken to hospital suffering from pellet wounds after shots were fired into their house in Coolock, north Dublin.

The shooting happened at around 12.40 a.m. on the Moateview estate.

At around the same time a shot were fired into a house in Cork city.  Five people, including three children, were in the house in Gurranabraher at the time.

Elsewhere, there were two shootings early yesterday morning.  A man is still being treated for serious injuries in Sligo after shots were fired at the van he was travelling in.

A second man was also hurt when shots were fired from the roadside in the Cranmore area of the town. The injured men were taken to Sligo General Hospital and are both are in a stable condition.

Gardaí in Co Kerry are investigating a shooting at a house in Killarney at around 1 a.m. on Sunday morning. No one was injured in the attack at Hazelwood Drive.
