Spanish police have arrested several people in northern Spain in connection with the sale of explosives that were used in the March 11th train bombs in Madrid.

A government spokesman gave no further details. Spanish news agency Europa Press said there had been six arrests.

About 20 suspected Islamist militants have been formally accused of involvement in the blasts that killed 191 people and injured 1,900.
