Service for Omagh victims

An ecumenical prayer service in memory of the victims of the Omagh bomb will be held at the Irish Centre in Birmingham today

An ecumenical prayer service in memory of the victims of the Omagh bomb will be held at the Irish Centre in Birmingham today. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Ms Susan Anderson, will attend and will be presented with a book of condolences which has been open at the centre for almost a month. An official of Winson Green Prison will present a cheque containing the proceeds of a collection to aid the victims of the bombing made by inmates of the prison.

The service, which is organised by the Tyrone County Association in Birmingham, will be led by Father Donal Gillespie, a native of Omagh who was on holiday in the town at the time of the bombing last month.
