THE Supreme Court judgment favouring four Dundalk residents who are taking a case against British Nuclear Fuels was considered yesterday by the Ministerial Group on Sellafield and the Irish Sea.

The Minister for the Environment, Mr Howl in, who chaired the meeting, emphasised the Government's determination to "pursue all available actions to minimise the risk to the Irish public and the environment from nuclear operations at Sellafield".

He said proposals arising from the meeting - also attended by junior Ministers Ms Joan Burton, Ms Avril Doyle, Mr Eamon Gilmore and Mr Emmet Stagg - would now be brought to the Government. He did not say, however, if these proposals included underwriting the legal costs of the Dundalk plaintiffs.
