Secretary general for new department

Civil servant Jim Breslin (39) has been appointed secretary general of the new Department of Children and Youth Affairs.

Civil servant Jim Breslin (39) has been appointed secretary general of the new Department of Children and Youth Affairs.

The appointment was ratified by the Cabinet yesterday at its weekly meeting. Mr Breslin has considerable experience at senior management level in government departments and the health service. He is an assistant secretary at the Department of Health and holds master’s degrees in public administration from TCD and Harvard University.
