Officers spent most of yesterday drilling through the concrete floor of a house in Irvine Drive, in Margate, Kent, where handyman Peter Tobin once lived.

Police said the work was carried out in preparation for forensic archaeologists to begin detailed examinations inside the house today.

They will be looking for any further human remains and also evidence linked to the disappearance of Vicky Hamilton (15) and Dinah McNicol (18). The body of Ms Hamilton and what are believed to be the remains of Ms McNicol were found in the back garden of the property last week.
