Scientist with Irish heritage wins Nobel prize

Born in New York to Irish parents in 1939 today John O'Keefe is the joint winner of the 2014 Nobel prize for medicine. O'Keefe says the award is a "great honour" for himself, and the field of neuroscience. Video: Reuters

US and Ukraine sign minerals deal
