The Sage Group has opened a new localisation centre at Citywest in Dublin today and announced investment which will double the size of its data hosting centre.

Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Micheál Martin officially opened the new facility.

The localisation centre is an integral part of Sage's worldwide activities and serves customers in Europe, the US, Asia, South Africa and Australia. The centre will employ 40 staff, with over 80 per cent requiring third level qualifications in software, engineering, localisation and IT networking.

Liam Mullaney, managing director of Sage Ireland said: "Due to our increasing requirement for innovative products and solutions and our positive experience with our existing Irish operations we have decided to expand our facility in Dublin.

"The other major influence on our decision was the availability of people with the key skills and the advanced technical knowledge that we require. This expansion will play a strategic role in the company's development of its global markets and is a testament to Ireland's highly attractive business environment. It is the ideal base to provide for the growing demand for our CRM products and services."
