Rome - In a decision pronounced yesterday, Italy's highest appeals court has ruled that a dog can be placed under house arrest if its barking disturbs neighbours.
The case had first made canine juridical history when the Rovigo tribunal, in northern Italy, ordered the owners of a barking offender to confine the animal to an area of the house not adjacent to the neighbour's garden or the public right of way.
