A senior fitness coach with Munster Rugby FC has settled his High Court action over an alleged attempt to make him redundant and replace him.

Dr Tom Comyns obtained a temporary injunction earlier this month preventing the IRFU advertising or filling the position of fitness coach. The IRFU later gave an undertaking in those terms in lieu of the High Court order.

Yesterday, Marguerite Bolger SC, for Dr Comyns, told Ms Justice Mary Laffoy the matter had been settled and it had been agreed previous orders could be vacated and the entire proceedings struck out.

On April 27th last, Dr Comyns claimed he was told “out of the blue” that his position was to be made redundant and the job was to be readvertised.
