THE father of a six year old girl, who stopped breathing after a car crash at the weekend, yesterday thanked the RUC officer who saved his daughter's life.

"He was brilliant, brilliant. But for him she would not be here," said Mr Gerard Campbell, of Greenpark Manor, Armagh.

Sgt Billy Fulton has gone on leave. His superior, Chief Insp Alan Cauldwell, said he had to be highly commended for his exceptional speed in deciding to remove the lifeless child from the car and give mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Amy Campbell, who was injured in a two car smash on the Keady road, is now back home with her parents.
