An anti-tank rocket exploded this morning in a building in Bangkok housing the office of the Israeli national carrier, El Al Israel Airlines, police said.

Bangkok Police Chief Mr Anan Piromkaeu told reporters that an unidentified assailant fired an M72 anti-tank rocket from the direction of a nearby Tesco Lotus supermarket at 6.30 a.m. (11.30 p.m. Irish time).

Police said no one was killed or injured in the incident.

The rocket grazed the supermarket and then hit an upper floor of the building housing El Al, shattering windows.

"It looks like an intimidating act," Mr Anan said. The airline ticket office is on the 14th floor of the building.
