A 24-year-old canoeist drowned after he got into difficulty on the River Suir at Clonmel, Co Tipperary, shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday.
The man, whose name will not be released until all relatives have been informed, was canoeing with his brother and a friend in the New Quay area when the incident occurred.
