Cry before Dawn, Friday, Crawdady Stage

Atmosphere: Nostalgic.

High: With the big guitar sound and impassioned vocals this gig hauled the crowd of mostly 40-somethings back to the mid-1980s when every record company in the world was scouring Ireland looking for the new U2. Some thought it might be Cry Before Dawn. They weren't of course, no one was. Fast forward 25 years and the band had everyone bopping and singing along happily. They were humble and self-effacing which was rather sweet and while they were unlikely to win a an army of new fans with this performance, they still did enough to convince their old ones that they've still got it.

Low: It wasn't just about the old, um, hits though. They also have new songs including Is This What This What You Waited For? Frankly? No. No it is not.

Quote: Can I just say what an honour it is to come back after 20 years and play an amazing festival like this.

Verdict: A bit dull.
