A 33-year-old electrician appeared amid tight security at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin yesterday charged with having Semtex explosive and ammunition. Mr Padraig Steenson, of Leinster Avenue, North Strand, Dublin, was arrested at that address on Friday and taken to Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station. He was charged with the unlawful possession of Semtex and 191 rounds of ammunition at a house at Glassmore Park, Swords, Co Dublin, and was remanded in custody until next Friday.
