Kinshasa - The capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo edged towards normality yesterday as Tutsi-led rebels trying to oust President Laurent Kabila prepared for a war of attrition.
The United Nations and its Secretary-General, Mr Kofi Annan, appealed for a ceasefire and the withdrawal of all foreign forces from the former Zaire.
