TOKYO A Japanese newspaper said yesterday that France had detected a toxic radioactive substance near Mururoa Atoll in the South Pacific after resuming nuclear testing there last September.
Yomiuri Shimbun said the radioactive substance, Iodine 131, was detected near Mururoa Atoll.
