London - A legal attempt to bring Muslims under the protection of race relations laws was thrown out by a British High Court judge yesterday.

Mr Justice Tucker had been told that the far-right British National Party cannot be prosecuted for an alleged race hate campaign against Muslims because they are a religious not an ethnic group and are not covered by the Race Relations Act. But the judge refused leave for a judicial review of the Crown Prosecution Service's decision not to prosecute.
