Have recent news stories about terrorist threats and chaos at airports changed your attitude to flying? Niall O'Connor poses the question at Cork airport

David Moynihan, Fulham, London, was returning home through Gatwick after a golfing holiday in Kerry

"I'm not concerned about the scare - I think you just have to keep travelling regardless of these things. It would not stop me travelling. I travel about once a year and I'm not going to stop doing that.

"I took some precautions as regards security - my son was disappointed that he couldn't take his iPod on the flight but that's all we did."

Ross Ray, Surrey, was set to return through Gatwick following a visit to relatives in Co Cork

"I would not change my mind regardless of the terrorists and the scare would not damage people travelling to Cork. I think the threat is serious but I think they have it under control. I don't think Cork would be a target so it wouldn't put me off flying. I might have second thoughts about travelling to the US - it's the main target but I'd still probably go."

Alex Ellwood, Durham, England, returning after a short break in Co Cork

"I am on my way to Durham and I am not worrying.

"I am not going through Heathrow which is the main place.

I would be more concerned about them targeting Heathrow "I am not going to stop travelling because that would let them win - it is more important to keep doing what you are doing."

Mary Heffernan, Killkenny, was travelling through Cork to Rome for a short holiday

"I wouldn't stop travelling because of the news. I have taken a few precautions and left items behind that would cause problems. I put my passport in a clear plastic bag and I just cut back on hand luggage. We have to be careful about the threat - Rome could be a target but the same could be said about Shannon. I'd be more worried about travelling from England to the US because they are the main supporters of the war in Iraq."
